🇲🇽 History of the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez
Built in 1959, the circuit was developed within the Magdalena Mixiuhca sports park. The first F1 race took place as a non-championship event in 1962, and the first official Grand Prix was held in 1963. Since its return to the calendar in 2015, Mexico has established itself as a must-visit event for drivers and fans alike.
Circuit and fan experience
The track sits over 2 km above sea level, a height that can be felt across Mexico City, making each lap a real test of breathing and performance. If you’re at the Autódromo, the area of the former baseball stadium offers some of the best views to watch the drivers and experience the podium ceremony. Mexico City is a lively metropolis that perfectly combines F1 passion with local culture, delicious food, and thousands of people speaking our language. There you can also enjoy unique experiences such as the “We Are Part of the Flight” activation, with seed paper butterflies and augmented reality, or visit the F1 Fan Zone with racing simulators.
