📌 Grand Prix Summary
Check all the live updates we shared during the official broadcast.
The 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix on the streets of Baku was a demanding race for Alpine and all the drivers. On Saturday, qualifying was marked by six red flags – an absolute record in a single session. One of them was caused by Franco, which left him P16 despite showing good pace that could have taken him into Q2.
In the race, Colapinto started from P16. After the initial red flag due to PIA’s crash on lap 1, racing resumed on lap 4 following the Safety Car. Franco climbed to P13 early on, showing strong pace, but on lap 17, while battling ALB into turn 5, he was hit and sent into the wall. Although he was able to continue, the car suffered aerodynamic damage and he lost performance. He finished P19, while his teammate Gasly ended in P18.

📻 Radio
During the race, Franco said: “After the pit stop I was fighting with ALB and he touched me, which cost me a lot of time. The car didn’t feel the same afterwards, surely with some damage.” At the end of the day, his engineer congratulated him: “Not our day, but you drove very, very well. We keep seeing progress.”
💬 Franco’s Statements
He finished a bit sadder than we’d like, but he still said some good things: “I want to thank the team for all their work this weekend. The start was positive and we were in a good position, but after the contact with ALB the race was ruined. The car was damaged and it was impossible to recover.”
And, as we mentioned during the Live Feed, even if the motivation was a little low, the fighting spirit and the support from Fran Club 43 never fade: “We need to keep pushing and make the most of every opportunity that comes.”
