A Grand Prix in the city where Argentina was crowned champion
The Formula 1 World Championship returns to a venue where darkness defines everything: the Lusail International Circuit. Under the floodlights and surrounded by desert, F1 runs in cooler, fast and demanding conditions. This round offers ideal temperatures, intense sessions and an atmosphere unlike anything else on the calendar.
A circuit built to flow
Lusail was originally designed for bikes, and you can feel it in every corner: medium and high-speed sections, long direction changes and a rhythm that never really stops. The main straight, over one kilometre long, creates constant overtaking opportunities into Turn 1, one of the most hotly contested points of the entire weekend.
During the broadcast you’ll hear typical lines such as:
“This is a track that rewards absolute precision” “Here, keeping tyre temperature alive makes all the difference” “Lusail punishes every mistake, even the small ones”
🏁 Key circuit facts
- Length: 5.419 km - Laps: 57 - Total distance: 308.883 km - Corner profile: medium and high-speed - Critical point: Turn 1 - Usual conditions: cooler track due to night running
An unpredictable weekend
Desert nights often reduce grip because of lower temperatures, and gusts of wind can change the car’s balance in an instant. Franco, like everyone else, will need to adapt quickly to the relatively fresh tarmac and the demanding braking zones.

A relatively new GP, but a decisive one
Qatar debuted in 2021, returned in 2023 with a long-term contract and secured its place thanks to night racing, ideal conditions and a layout that encourages attacking. This year includes a Sprint and extra strategic layers, plus one unique rule: a limit of 25 laps per tyre set, which forces at least two pit stops.
