📝 Weekend summary
Franco Colapinto shone in qualifying with a solid P14, showing excellent pace in a challenging weekend. Despite a tough race with a difficult start and setbacks in the pits, the Argentine driver fought all the way to the end, finishing ahead of his team-mate and ready for the summer break.
The Hungaroring weekend was marked by Franco’s steady improvement. In the practice sessions, he focused on balance adjustments and overcoming grip limitations, earning positive feedback from the team. Despite the A525 posing challenges for both drivers, Franco made significant progress, reached Q2 and secured P14 on the grid — a very encouraging starting position for Sunday.
However, the race brought a true test. The start was the most critical moment: a loss of grip in the opening corners dropped him to P18. Throughout the race, Franco showed strong pace in clean air and battled hard at every opportunity, but time lost in the pit lane and the circuit’s overtaking difficulties limited his ability to climb back. Still, he completed the GP with determination and pride, finishing ahead of team-mate GAS — a sign of his consistent efforts.

🗣️ Franco Colapinto’s words
Franco made clear how difficult Sunday in Hungary was, saying, “It was not the best of days today and a difficult race for us as a team. He explained that, despite everything, the car felt good in clean air: “The pace was good at times in clean air and I had the same feeling as yesterday, I think we have taken a good step forward with the car which has given me confidence.” He noted that despite the good pace, setbacks limited him: “the blue flags and losing time in the pitlane, it really limited what we could achieve today. The initial start and getaway was good, but from there we fell back on the first lap and lost places. I was struggling with rear grip and sliding, which came back to us later in the race.” Franco also addressed the pit stop issues: “We opted for a two-stop and unfortunately, we encountered issues on both which meant we were held longer than we expected. As a team, we've been very good recently with pitstops, but these things happen in racing” Finally, he said he's focused on making the most of the summer break: “We need to use this opportunity to rest and reset and be ready to go again in Zandvoort and try to understand where we can keep making improvements.”
