"I started watching F1 because of Franco. First, I heard there was an Argentine doing well, so I started looking up his results. One day I tuned in — it was just the start of his second F1 race — and I thought, 'I'll give it two laps, then I’ll switch it off'. But I ended up watching the whole race… and I’ve stayed ever since.
In the next race, I started watching qualifying, then the practice sessions, and during the break I began doing research so I could really enjoy it, support him and speak with knowledge.
Franco is a source of pride, for the way he fought to achieve his dream. He's the perfect example that with hard work and being ready when the chance comes, you can achieve amazing things.
Every time he goes out on track, I get emotional. I can’t watch the onboard footage anymore — it gives me vertigo, as if my daughters were driving the car.
…Seeing him reach Q2 in Canada moved me to tears, as if he’d made it to the podium.
Franco is passion, joy, humility, resilience, teamwork, and competition. He’s the full package, and he’s ours — Argentine!
I watch practice, qualifying and the race no matter the time. Franco will always have me there, along with my two daughters (aged 8 and 11) and our dog, cheering him on. I tell my girls that he's an example because of his story, and the way he got here — dreams do come true, and goals can be reached.
Now my nephew was just born, and I sent him his first Franco baby grow, because he’s going to be a fan too. One day the four of us are going to see him live.
We’re from Río Grande, Tierra del Fuego! Argentina, Argentinians — just like our driver! LET’S GO FRANCO! VAMOS, NENE!"
