👏 This weekend we're back at Spa-Francorchamps
The longest circuit on the calendar, one of Franco's favourites and one of the most special weekends of the year. Franco has history here. A lot of it.
And before F1?
Spa and Franco know each other well. In the Formula Renault Eurocup he won here in the rain, which at Spa is a feat in itself. In F3 he finished fifth. And in F2 in 2024 he qualified fourth and scored points in the Sprint with a solid performance in tricky conditions.
Last year, on his F1 debut at Spa, he started from P15 in extreme wet conditions that delayed the race by more than 80 minutes. He started behind the Safety Car and completed all 44 laps showing strong pace in key sectors: he was third in the speed trap at 321 km/h and posted strong times in sectors 1 and 3. The tyre strategy didn't quite work out, but Franco completed a very demanding race at one of the most challenging circuits on the calendar.
"It was a tough and long race for us. The first part was good, we caught up to the cars ahead, but then with the medium tyres we struggled to maintain pace in traffic."
