One of the fastest and most scenic tracks on the F1 calendar

We’re heading to the Styrian mountains for another round of the 2025 season: the Austrian Grand Prix.
Austria is famous for its chocolate, ski resorts and classical music… but this weekend, the loudest sound will be the roar of the engines.
This circuit may be small, but it’s mighty—one of the fans’ favourites thanks to its natural setting, long straights, and vibrant atmosphere. Franco Colapinto returns to a track he already knows well, but this time with a new challenge: it will be his first time racing it in a Formula 1 car.
🤩 How has Franco performed here in the past?
Pretty well! Last year in F2, he set the fastest lap of the race with a time of 1:17.868 and finished in second place. You can catch some of his brilliant overtakes in the final minutes of this video 👈.
Everything suggests we’re in for an exciting race this weekend, with several title contenders showing strong pace.
And that’s not all… in 2022, he also made it to the podium in the F3 Sprint race, finishing third!
Hopefully, that experience will help him rise to the occasion in this key weekend.
Ready to dive into everything you need to know about this GP?
Here’s your full guide to follow every detail from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 June.
🏟️ A short, fast and technical track
The Red Bull Ring, located in Spielberg, Austria, has just 10 corners, 3 long straights, and over 63 metres of elevation change. With 71 laps and a total race distance of 306.452 km, it’s a high-speed track that puts serious pressure on engines—though it’s gentler on the brakes. There are 3 DRS zones, offering plenty of overtaking opportunities, especially in the early corners. Since returning to the calendar in 2014, this track has delivered countless thrilling races. It’s one no one wants to miss!
🌌 A view that takes your breath away
This track is tucked away in the Styrian mountains, surrounded by green hills and peaceful silence. It’s like racing through Patagonia… with an F1 engine at full throttle. Built in a natural amphitheatre, it’s easily one of the most visually stunning circuits of the year. It’s also home to Red Bull, and was completely renovated in 2011. Since then, it’s become a mid-season classic.
🌡️ Weather forecast: heat incoming!
- Friday 27: Max 32º, sunny. - Saturday 28: Max 32º, sunny. - Sunday 29: Max 33º, partly cloudy but dry.
