👏 This weekend we're back at Silverstone
The most iconic circuit on the calendar, Alpine's home and one of the most special weekends of the year.
Franco raced here for the first time in 2025. This is how it went.
Silverstone has something no other track has
It's fast, technical and has an energy in the grandstands that you can feel from inside the car. Read everything about what we'll be seeing this weekend in this week's El Box de Franco.
And last year?
Franco had his best Friday of the season up to that point. Good pace, solid communication with his engineer and positive feelings in the car from FP1. Everything pointed to a race where he could fight his way through the field.
Saturday was more complicated: he qualified P20 after an incident brought out a red flag in Q1. For Sunday's race, the plan was to start from the pit lane and take advantage of the changing wet conditions to gain positions. But a technical problem stopped him from doing so: his Alpine got stuck in gear at the moment of the start and, despite the team's attempts, he couldn't get going.
A frustrating end to a weekend that had shown one of Franco's best Fridays in F1. The failure came on exactly the day he most wanted to be out on track.
Meanwhile, Gasly finished sixth in the team's home race, scoring important points for Alpine.
What Franco said
"I was really looking forward to racing today, so it was disappointing not to be able to go out and try to recover from yesterday's result in conditions that offered a lot of opportunities."
"As a driver, these are the days when you most want to be out on track. It was a good weekend in terms of learning, and I'm glad Pierre and the team were able to score points in our home race."

🩵 One year on
Franco returns to Silverstone with unfinished business. Last year's Friday showed what he's capable of. Now he arrives with more experience, more confidence and a debt to settle on track.
