With four weekends already in the book, Formula 1 heads to the high-speed streets of Jeddah, for the fifth chapter of this 2025 season: where narrow walls, blistering pace, and zero margin for error make for one of the most thrilling weekends of the year.
Here’s what you should be watching out for ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix…
Jeddah Corniche Circuit – Speed, Precision, and Danger
The Jeddah Corniche Circuit isn’t just fast, it’s insanely fast. Second only to Monza in average speed, this street track redefines what a city circuit can be.
With 27 turns, most of them high-speed flicks and blind entries, the challenge isn’t just technical - it’s mental. Confidence is key, but cockiness gets punished instantly.
Expect action through the sweeping Turns 22 and 23, where walls are inches away and commitment is everything. DRS zones along the waterfront offer overtaking chances, but misjudge the braking, and you’re in the barriers.
Under the Lights, On the Edge
Jeddah under the lights is a visual stunner, but it’s also one of the most intense races on the calendar. The night setting keeps the track temperature stable, which helps with consistency, but not with comfort.
Drivers are in constant motion, with barely a second to breathe. Mistakes here don’t just cost time, they end races.
Safety Cars are common, and timing a pit stop around them can make or break a strategy. Don’t be surprised if chaos rears its head at the worst (or best) possible moment.
Second Glance at the Season’s Hierarchy
With Bahrain setting the opening tone, Saudi Arabia is where we start to see the real shape of the grid.
High-speed efficiency is the name of the game here - teams with strong aerodynamic balance and engine power will shine.
Keep an eye on McLaren’s stunning form up to now, Red Bull’s teething issues and Mercedes’ consistency.
Alpine picked up some valuable points of their own in Bahrain with Pierre Gasly finishing in P7 so let’s see whether he can maintain that form this weekend.
In Jeddah, speed and confidence rule - and with the field this tight, even the smallest edge could be the difference between a podium and the wall.
