Some time ago, we asked you to send in your questions for Franco, and now we finally managed to make some room in his schedule so he could answer a few of them.
We know many of you wanted to hear directly from him and, although it’s always difficult to find a free moment between so many activities, we gathered a set of answers that show not only the driver, but also the person behind the helmet.
What would you like to share from Argentina with current F1 drivers? 🇦🇷
Franco: "To be world champions! 🏆
Also, the passion. The way we live sport, how we cheer, how we feel it.
And of course, the asados. I think if they sit at an Argentine table on a Sunday at noon with a good asado, they’ll never want to leave."
What does it feel like knowing that an entire country follows F1 thanks to you?
Franco: "It’s crazy!
It’s a huge responsibility, but at the same time a massive motivation.
Feeling the support of people in every message, in every race, gives me an extra push. It moves me a lot to know that there are kids dreaming of reaching F1 as well."
What is your favourite quote in difficult moments?
Franco: “Dream big, work bigger.
Nothing comes by itself; everything requires effort, consistency and humility. But if it’s in your head, it’s because it’s possible."
Would you like to bring a GP to Argentina? What do you think is missing for it to happen? 🏁
Franco: "Of course!
It would be incredible to race at home, with all the fans cheering.
I think what’s needed is a big investment in infrastructure, especially to adapt a circuit to the current demands of F1. But I hope it happens soon, because the fans are already here."
What are your top three Argentine foods?
Franco: "Asado, empanadas salteñas, and milanesas with chips.
And if we’re adding dessert, a good flan with dulce de leche."
Do you have any traditions before racing?
Franco: "I don’t have any specific ones.
They’re created each weekend as we go through the emotions of racing."
Maybe we could give him a couple of ideas, right?
If you weren’t a racing driver, what would you be doing?
Franco: "A cyclist, without a doubt.
One of the things I most enjoy outside racing is riding my bike 🚴♂️."
