Franco Colapinto will continue as a race driver for the BWT Alpine F1 Team in the 2027 season.
An announcement that comes at the perfect moment: one week before the Italian GP at Monza, with the second half of the season in full swing and Franco proving race by race that he earned his place.

I feel very happy and very settled here and it's been even better that we have made significant progress this year compared to last. We have a lot more milestones to reach and I know the team is working so hard in finding performance and making the car better and better. We have seen Franco truly grow and mature into a great driver this year. His results in Miami and Montréal especially confirmed what I already knew: Franco belongs in Formula One and he belongs at this team. Franco arrived in 2026 determined to prove he deserved the seat and he did it race by race: points in China, Miami, Canada, Barcelona, Great Britain and Belgium, results that cement him as a key piece of the Alpine project.
