Congratulations to Virginie, who took part in the draw for Alpine’s official hoodie and now holds a unique piece of the #FranClub43
Franco loves getting to know the FranClub better, which is why we always want to share the fun stories of fans we get to connect with.
Virginie told us her story, how she discovered Franco, and what it meant to receive such a special prize. Read it all here…
🌟 From Schumacher to Colapinto: a passion that keeps growing
Virginie has been a Formula 1 fan since childhood, following Michael Schumacher. After his retirement, she spent years without a favourite driver… until Franco appeared:
“Until I heard about a rookie at Williams. I had never heard his name before. I saw him on TV, and what attracted me was his aura. It was a ‘when you know, you know’ moment. Then I listened to him speak and he convinced me: he has a sparkle in his eyes, he conveys honesty and is very charismatic. Finally, I saw him race… and I knew it was him. The driver I want to support.”
Virginie even started learning Spanish with one dream in mind:
“I’ve been learning Spanish for two years. I want to travel to Argentina to see Franco race in a national Grand Prix. That would be incredible.” 🇦🇷
🎁 The giveaway and the thrill of winning
Like many of you, Virginie has been very active on the official FC43 app since its early days. That’s where she saw the hoodie giveaway and decided to join:
“I thought it would be amazing to win it. I always trust my instincts, and this time I had nothing to lose. Life is sometimes simple: you just have to take opportunities when they come. It was an incredible moment when I realised I was the winner!”
Her favourite memories of Franco
Among her most treasured moments, Virginie highlights when Franco confirmed he would be a Formula 1 driver again this year.
She also remembers scenes from the garage, his focus before going on track… and something very special: “What makes me smile the most is when he explains mate and tries to convince others to taste it. It’s something that runs in his blood, like driving. Now I’m a fan of mate too!” 🧉
📲 Her experience with the FC43 app
Virginie discovered the app through the official website and hasn’t stopped using it since: “I was amazed, I had never seen another driver do something like this. The app has so much content: news, F1 history, the circuits… I like that the articles are short and easy to read, even to practise my Spanish. Plus, it’s simple and accessible to everyone.”
